Spring Mini Sessions

Spring in New Jersey and the Hudson Valley feels like a reset. The light softens, the trees bloom, and after a long winter of grey skies and questionable moods, everything starts to come back to life. Including us.

These spring mini sessions are a small celebration of that. A reason to step outside again, stand in some actual sunlight, and document this version of your life before it shifts into the next one.

Each session is 20–30 minutes, relaxed and gently guided, set in beautiful outdoor locations across Woodstock, Kingston, and Rhinebeck in the Hudson Valley, as well as Jersey City, Hoboken, and surrounding areas in New Jersey. Places with good light, open space, and just enough quiet to feel like you’re not being watched by an audience.

No stiff posing, no pressure. Just real moments, good light, and someone making sure you don’t have to think too hard about what to do with your hands.

Perfect for families, couples, maternity, or anyone who made it through winter and would like photographic proof.

WHAT ARE MINI SESSIONS

These spring mini sessions are 30-minute photography sessions designed for families, maternity, couples, or anyone looking for updated portraits in Jersey City, New Jersey, and the Hudson Valley. They’re quick, relaxed, and take place in beautiful outdoor locations like cherry blossoms, waterfront parks, and open fields, creating natural, light-filled images that feel effortless and real.

Spring Mini Session FAQs

When are spring mini sessions available?

Spring doesn’t stick around for long here, so these sessions usually run from late March through early May, depending on what’s actually in bloom. Dates are released in small batches and tend to book quickly.

Where do the sessions take place?

Across New Jersey and the Hudson Valley, including Jersey City, Hoboken, Bergen County, Woodstock, Kingston, and Rhinebeck. I choose specific locations based on light and what’s looking best that week, so you don’t end up in a field that hasn’t figured out it’s spring yet.

What if the cherry blossoms aren’t blooming?

Then we pivot. Orchards, open fields, water, trees just starting to turn. Spring isn’t one thing, and some of the best photos come from the places people weren’t expecting.

What should we wear?

Soft, neutral tones always work best. Nothing too heavy, nothing too loud. I’ll send a simple guide after booking so you don’t have to overthink it.

Can we bring kids or dogs?

Yes, absolutely. Bring the kids, bring the dogs, bring the chaos if it comes with you. No one needs to behave perfectly. That’s not really the point.

How long are the sessions?

Each session is about 20–30 minutes. Short enough to keep things easy, long enough to get what we need without rushing.

What happens if it rains?

We reschedule. No dramatic speeches required.

Can I book a mini session with a newborn?

These are best suited for families with kids who can sit or stand on their own. If you’ve just welcomed a newborn, a full session will give you the time and space that season deserves.

How many photos do we get?

You’ll receive a curated gallery of 30-50 professionally edited images.

  • We were looking for a photographer in the Hudson Valley who felt more natural and less posed, and Averie was exactly that. The session felt relaxed and the photos came out even better than we imagined.”

  • Averie is magic with kids. She met them exactly where they were at, didn’t force anything, and still captured the most beautiful moments. She photographed our wedding and now our growing family, which makes these photos mean even more. These are the first family photos that actually feel honest.
