The first thing most people notice about Jersey City is the skyline.

Across the river, Manhattan rises out of the water like a movie set. At sunset the glass buildings turn pink and gold, and the Hudson holds the light a little longer before night falls.

But when you live here, you start to notice other things.

The quiet streets lined with brownstones.

The wind coming off the river at Liberty State Park.

The hum of ferries moving across the harbor.

I moved to Jersey City in 2016, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings all across the city.

Every celebration feels a little different. Some unfold along the waterfront with the skyline glowing behind the ceremony. Others happen in intimate restaurants, loft spaces, or tucked-away corners of the city where the energy is quieter and more personal.

As a Jersey City wedding photographer, I’m drawn to the moments that happen in between everything else.

The deep breath before walking down the aisle.

A hand reaching across the table during dinner.

The way the dance floor comes alive once the night really begins.

These are the moments that become the memories people return to years later.

And Jersey City, with its mix of grit, beauty, and history, is the perfect place for those stories to unfold.
